PT. Smart Cakrawala Aviation is looking for a Design Engineer in Aircraft Structures & Stress Analysis to join our Design Organisation Approval (DOA) Class C team for small aircraft (CASR Part 21 / Part 23), within the Office of Airworthiness / Design Engineering Department.
In this role you will substantiate the structural integrity of aircraft modifications: building and running finite element models, applying the loads delivered by the other design disciplines, checking the strength of the structure and its attachments, and preparing the stress and strength compliance documents needed for airworthiness approval.
Responsibilities
- Build and run finite element models of aircraft structure and modification installations.
- Apply loads and boundary conditions, including the aerodynamic and inertia loads provided by other design disciplines.
- Interpret FEA results and perform stress and strength analysis of the structure and its attachments.
- Select and verify material properties and standard parts against their reference standards.
- Prepare stress and strength analysis reports and compliance documents in line with the applicable CASR requirements.
- Coordinate with the aerodynamics, cabin / interior, and certification engineers so that loads, geometry, and compliance evidence stay consistent.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (S1) in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Stress Engineer on aircraft structures.
- Fresh graduates with a thesis, final project, or other project on aircraft structural analysis using Patran/Nastran, APEX, or ABAQUS may be considered and will work under supervision.
- Strong experience in aircraft structure Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and stress and strength analysis.
- Able to apply loads and boundary conditions, and to interpret FEA results.
- Familiar with material standard properties, standard parts, and their references.
- Familiar with the CASR regulations related to stress and strength analysis.
- Able to prepare stress and strength analysis compliance documents.
- Proficient in at least one structural analysis tool: Patran/Nastran, APEX, or ABAQUS.
- Familiar with CATIA, and proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Good to Have
- Experience with aircraft modification or certification projects under CASR/FAR Part 23 or Part 25.
- Hand calculation methods for joints, fasteners, and fittings (for example Bruhn or Niu).
